Visa Requirements

The Israeli authorities require a work permit. You would be well advised to check this out first with your local Israeli representative/emissary/consulate, before leaving for Israel.

Hiring Procedure

Once we have received your application, we will contact you regarding an interview. Interviews are held at the language center during regular office hours. If you reside outside of Israel, please inform us as to when you are planning to be in the country so that we can set up a personal interview at the center.

Please note that any costs incurred while travelling to the interview are covered by the applicant. After successful completion of the interview process, you will be invited to attend the Berlitz Instructor Training. This will also be held at one of our language centers and is free of charge.

Teaching Contracts

Berlitz Israel offers new instructors pay-per-lesson contracts. Most of the classes are in the morning or evening hours. Under such conditions, the working hours are flexible and may change from week to week. Teaching may take place in our learning centers as well at the customers' premises. We also recruit kids' instructors. In order to teach with Berlitz, you must possess an academic background (BA) or equivalent.

Taxes and Pension Plans

Berlitz pays the national insurance and tax is deducted according to Israeli law.

Getting Started

Our experience has shown that you will initially need to bring approximately $2,500 - $3,000 with you to budget for acquiring an apartment or similar accommodation, day-to-day living expenses and miscellaneous expenses that can be incurred until your first pay period. It is also necessary to open a bank account which facilitates the transfer of monthly wages, payment of bills, etc.
