Visa Requirements

Residence Permit

Travelers who plan to reside in Morocco must obtain a residence permit. A residence permit may be requested and obtained from immigration authorities (Service Etranger) at the central police station of the district of residence. U.S. citizens are encouraged to carry a copy of their U.S. passports with them at all times, so that, if questioned by local officials, proof of identity and U.S. citizenship is readily available.

Teaching Contracts

We offer part-time teaching positions at our centers. The contracts are for a minimum of one year. Most of the classes are in the morning or evening hours. Under such conditions, the working hours are flexible and may change from week to week depending on customer requests and demand for lessons.

Getting Started

Our experience has shown that you will initially need to bring approximately $2,500 - $3,000 with you to budget for acquiring an apartment or similar accommodation, day-to-day living expenses and miscellaneous expenses that can be incurred until your first pay period. It is also necessary to open a bank or post account in Morocco which facilitates the transfer of monthly wages, payment of bills, etc.

| Positions available: | Part time teachers in English, German , Spanish, French Job summary: The Instructor is responsible for teaching assigned classes in accordance with Berlitz instruction principles; for maintaining student class records and fulfilling administrative duties as required or requested by the LIS; and for participating in professional development activities. In liaison with the LIS, the instructor is further responsible for counseling students, providing effective feedback and advice; recommending appropriate products services to meet customers' needs; and for designing and/or delivering programs in accordance with their enhanced product knowledge. Key Job Functions: - Deliver lessons in accordance with Berlitz teaching principles and focused on the interests and needs of the students, working with private students and groups of differing sizes at the LC and at off-site locations
- Integrate learning technology into teaching programs, as required by the curriculum or requested by the student
- Keep student records and profile cards up to date as required or requested.
- Fulfill ongoing responsibilities to customers as required by the Berlitz Learning Cycle; assessing existing and prospective customers' level of proficiency; delivering counseling sessions to students in liaison with the LIS; recommending improvements to the students' programs, in liaison with the LIS; and assisting the LIS where necessary in delivering specialized programs for customers
- Maintain an impeccable customer focus in the delivery of all duties
- Help promote LC activities to customers
- Actively participate in own professional self-development plan, directed and supported by the LIS
- Actively participate in own performance evaluation plan, directed and supported by the LIS
- Adopt and put into practice leadership and communication skills
- Actively participate in a BSC initiative designed to impact at least one strategic objective
- Practice the Five Berlitz Operating Principles as a guide to professional behavior and professional relationships with LC staff and customers
- Maintain center resource materials
Profile: - Educated native proficiency in the language they teach
- Excellent communication / interpersonal skills and cultural sensitivity
- Successful completion of the core modules of the Berlitz Instructor Training, a minimum of 500 teaching units and of 3-month development period
- Successful completion of further Berlitz Instructor Training Modules and Assignments; and of Berlitz Product Knowledge test
- A current Performance Evaluation rating "Good" or better
- College/University Degree and/or relevant work experience
- Teaching qualifications desired, but not essential
