Work Permit Requirements
 In order to be allowed to work in Switzerland you need a work permit. Switzerland distinguishes between EU- and non-EU citizens. If you are interested in teaching at Berlitz in Switzerland please, check your eligibility to get a work permit at www.amigra.ch.
Hiring Procedure
Once we have received your application, we will contact you regarding
an interview. Interviews are held at the language center during regular
office hours. If you reside outside of Switzerland, please inform us as to
when you are planning to be in the country so that we can set up a
personal interview at the center.
Please note that any costs incurred while traveling to the interview
are covered by the applicant. After successful completion of the interview
process, you will be invited to attend the Berlitz Instructor Training.
This will also be held at one of our language centers.
Teaching Contracts
We offer part-time teaching positions at our centers. Working hours are
flexible and change from day to day, and from week to week depending on
your availability. We have daytime, evening and Saturday morning courses.
Taxes and Pension Plans
Instructors are responsible for their own tax and medical payments or subscriptions.
Getting Started
Our experience has shown that you will initially need to bring
approximately $ 3,000 - $ 4,000. with you to budget for acquiring an appartment
or similar accommodation, day-to-day living expenses and miscellaneous
expenses that can be incurred until your first pay period. It is also
necessary to open a bank or post account in Switzerland which facilitates
the transfer of monthly wages, payment of bills, etc.
