Visa Requirements
As a non-EU citizen, it is necessary to acquire a visa to live and work in Ireland. Often, those studying here on student visas are allowed to work for a few hours per week. Berlitz is unable to assist in the procurement of visas.
Hiring Procedure
 Once we have received your application, we will contact you regarding an interview. Interviews are held at the language center during regular office hours. If you reside outside of Ireland, please inform us as to when you are planning to be in the country so that we can set up a personal interview at the center. Please note that any costs incurred while travelling to the interview are covered by the applicant. After successful completion of the interview process, you will be invited to attend the Berlitz Instructor Training. This will also be held at one of our language centers and is free of charge.
Teaching Contracts
We offer part-time, non-guaranteed teaching positions at our centres. Classes take place from 8.15 a.m. to 9.00 p.m. Under such conditions, the working hours are flexible and may change from day to day depending on customer requests and the demand for lessons.
Taxes and Pension Plans
Income tax and pay-related social insurance is automatically deducted by Berlitz. Instructors are responsible for their own medical payments or subscriptions.
Getting Started
Our experience has shown that you will initially need to bring approximately $6,000 with you to budget for acquiring an apartment or similar accommodation, day-to-day living expenses and miscellaneous expenses that can be incurred until your first pay period. It is also necessary to open a bank account which facilitates the transfer of monthly wages, payment of bills, etc.
