Work Permit Requirements

In order for instructors to obtain a visa, the employer must first apply for a work permit. Please note that this process can take several months. Work permits are usually given for 1 year so visas would be for 1 year as well.

The permission for work is given by the State Migration Service upon the application of the employer. The following documents are required:

  1. Application
  2. Copy of migration card
  3. Certificate of acknowledgment of foreign employee's education
  4. Passport or other identification documents
  5. Medical history sheet (medical record)
  6. Medical certificate (AIDS)
  7. Document confirming the payment of the fee

Once the work permit has been obtained, a visa can be applied for. It usually takes 20 days from the date of application to obtain a visa. The following state bodies are authorized to execute, issue, extend the validity period of visa, restore or terminate visa:

  • Diplomatic missions or consular offices of the Russian Federation;
  • The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation;
  • The Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Russian Federation.

Documents to be provided in order to get visa are:

  1. Passport;
  2. Questionnaire;
  3. Medical insurance certificate valid within the Russian Federation territory;

Please note: If the applicant requires visa with the term of validity more than three years it is necessary to present the certificate confirming that the person is not a carrier of AIDS- infection.

Hiring Procedure

If you are interested in teaching in the Russian Federation, please forward your cover letter and CV to teach@berlitz-russia.com.

Once we have received your CV, and cover letter, we will check your eligibility, and send out a detailed questionnaire which will tell us more about you, your experience and your expectations of Berlitz. After we have received your completed questionnaire, we will schedule a telephone interview and face-to-face interview, if possible, with you. Once you successfully completed the interview process, you will be offered a position and invited to attend our Berlitz Instructor Training.

Teaching Contracts

We offer full-time, part-time, and freelance teaching positions at our center. Most of the classes are company courses and instruction may take place either before or after work hours. Under such conditions, the working hours are flexible and may change from week to week.

Getting Started

It is recommended to bring approximately $2,000 - $3,000 with you initially to budget for acquiring an apartment or similar accommodation, day-to-day living expenses and miscellaneous expenses that can be incurred until your first pay period. It is also necessary to open a bank account which facilitates the transfer of monthly wages, payment of bills, etc.
