Visa Requirements

All other instructors working at our centre are required to apply for temporary residency and a work permit. These documents can be applied for after you are accepted as a freelance instructor with us. There are no restrictions placed on the nationality of applicants and we can guide you through the application process. All Non-EU residents musta take care of work permit / Visa prior to application.

Hiring Procedure

Once we have received your application, we will contact you regarding an interview. Interviews are conducted at our language centre before the training. After successful completion of the interview process, you will be invited to attend the Berlitz Instructor Training. To be eligible to attend the training, you should be available to complete a one-year teaching commitment. Approximately 80% of the candidates who attend the initial training are given an opportunity to teach at the centre. Performance evaluations are also conducted once the instructor has begun teaching.

Teaching Contracts

Berlitz in Slovenia offers freelance contracts to new instructors. Under such conditions, working hours are flexible and may vary from week to week depending on customer requests and the demand for lessons. Our freelance contract does not cover insurance or compensation for relocation expenses.

Getting Started

Our experience has shown that you will initially need to bring approximately 2,500 Eur - 3,000 Eur with you to budget for acquiring an apartment or similar accommodation, day-to-day living expenses and miscellaneous expenses that can be incurred until your first pay period. It is also necessary to open a bank account which facilitates the transfer of monthly wages, payment of bills, etc.
